InDesign CC 2015 - Layers indicator missing. I've just opened up an Indesign file in the latest version of Adobe InDesign and for some reason, on my layers panel have lost the little square layer indicator on the right (see below) This is really frustrating me, I'm sure it's just a setting somewhere, but I cant find it.
On a computer that is connected to the internet, open a terminal or console window and run the following command:
adobe_prtk --tool=VolumeSerialize --generate --serial={serial number} --leid=V7{}InDesignServer-11-Win-GM --provfile={absolute path where you have write access, or leave blank to write to the directory that contains adobe_prtk}
adobe_prtk --tool=VolumeSerialize --generate --serial={serial number} --leid=V7{}InDesignServer-11-Mac-GM --provfile={absolute path where you have write access, or leave blank to write to the directory that contains adobe_prtk}
Ensure that you have administrative privileges to run this command.
After the above command is successfully completed, the following message is displayed on the terminal or console:
Return Code = 0
Also, a prov.xml file is generated at the path specified in the --provfile argument in the ommand.
Copy the prov.xml file to a folder on the computer that is running InDesign Server and run the following command:
adobe_prtk --tool=VolumeSerialize --provfile={absolute path of the prov.xml file on the target machine}
