The Colt Gold Cup is a tighter, lighter version of the 1911 that was built to survive a World War, with a Series 70 firing mechanism and spur-style hammer. We love the brushed steel finish on this gun, too, and would take it each and every day over the eccentric brown options. I love those Gold Cups! I had a Colt Gold Cup Trophy that was a phenomenal shooter. Traded it off for a Colt Diamondback that I love but I still miss that CGT. Just recently bought a new Gold Cup National Match. Not as nice as my old CGT but still a damn fine gun.
